Sandhurst Schools Formal education came to Sandhurst via the Churches. St. Michael's Church of England School opened in 1862, followed by the Methodist School on 'Scotland Hill' in 1871.
By 1900 the population of College Town was growing and in 1907 a Council School opened in Branksome Hill Road. Within three years extensions were found necessary, a growth which has continued down the years.
The Museum has an extensive collection of school photographs of these and the other schools which now exist.
Perhaps you have some which you would be willing to let us have copies of to extend the record of Sandhurst history.
This is just a small part of our information on the Schools of Sandhurst past and present. If you need more information on these or any of the other Sandhurst Schools please contact us directly. |
