Sandhurst Associations Two of the earliest Associations recorded in Sandhurst in the 19th Century are the Ancient Order of Foresters Friendly Society 1866, and the Church of England Temperance Society 1890's, to encourage the young from alcohol addiction. The first Scout troop was formed by a Royal Military College chaplin in the early 1900's followed in 1926 by the 1st Sandhurst St. Michaels Troop and the 2nd College Town Troop. Girl Guide and other young groups followed. The Womens Institute was formed in 1919 shortly after the National Federation was created. It has flourished continuously to this day, together with the Ladies' Golden Circle and many others. The Museum is the custodian for the archives of several other Sandhurst Associations

This is just a small part of our information on the many associations that Sandhurst has had and indeed still exist today. If you need more information on these or any of the other Sandhurst associations please contact us directly.
